Patronage

The project Climate Change: Understanding and Acting is funded by the Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Umwelt und Verbraucherschutz to provide materials to Bavarian schools for free.

By taking over the patronage in February 2019, Environment Minister Glauber underlines the high value of the project. In 2021, the DPG (Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft) and DMG (Deutsche Meteorologische Gesellschaft) will honor the project by assuming sponsorship.

Thorsten Glauber, MdL

Thorsten Glauber is Bavarian Minister for Environment and Consumer Protection. As patron of the project, he supports the commitment of the organizers, which helps to convince even young people of the need to take action.

Knowledge about the processes of climate change is essential. This is the only way we can successfully counteract it. That's why I'm particularly keen to motivate young people to get to grips with the issue. Understanding climate change and tackling it go hand in hand. We must live climate protection.

Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft

The Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG) sees itself as a voice for physics and a contact for people interested in physics. As patron of the project, the DPG supports the basic idea of illuminating the causes and consequences of climate change as well as pointing out opportunities for concrete action against man-made climate change.

Oonly those who know and understand the scientific background are able to act responsible, initiate change and contribute to sustainable development.

Deutsche Meteorologische Gesellschaft

The Deutsche Meteorologische Gesellschaft (DMG) promotes young scientists and supports work in the field of meteorology. As a patron, the DMG supports the teaching of knowledge about the physical processes in the atmosphere at schools.

The project serves as a model for anchoring basic knowledge of climate processes in Germany. The climate suitcase is an excellent way to provide the younger generation with a deeper understanding of the physics of the atmosphere.
